In any divorce, dissolution, or legal separation with minor children, both parents must complete the three-hour "New Beginnings" class ($40 per person) within 60 days (Local Rule 7.11). DR cases with children are then referred to Family Court Services mediation ($150 court cost), which begins only after the class is finished — so start it early.
