He also holds a Master of Public Administration from The Ohio State University's John Glenn College of Public Affairs (2019) and a bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University (2015), giving him a strong foundation in both law and public policy.

Before practicing law, Sheldon built a distinguished career in public service. He began with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, serving as a trooper for nearly seven years and applying the Ohio Revised Code daily to promote public safety. He later worked as a public relations officer in Dayton and Cincinnati, managing media relations, organizing press conferences, and leading community outreach — experience that sharpened the communication skills he now brings to client representation.

Sheldon also has a distinguished military career, having served in both the Army and the Air Force in roles including company commander, flight commander, and emergency management liaison officer. He currently serves as a captain in the Air National Guard, playing an active part in local and statewide relief efforts, including natural disaster response. That leadership background informs the discipline and steadiness he brings to every case.

Community engagement remains central to Sheldon's work. Through a role with the Columbus Department of Development he collaborated with nonprofits and led initiatives to strengthen neighborhoods through housing and economic growth, and he continues to serve as an executive board member of the South Side Thrive Collaborative. A published author, he contributes to the Columbus Bar Association's Lawyers Quarterly.
