- Fulton County Clerk of Courts — Filing Deposits
- Fulton County Juvenile Division — Local Rules & Forms
- Ohio Supreme Court — Standard Domestic Relations forms
What we confirmed for 2026
- Divorce or dissolution deposits are $325.00 without children and $400.00 with children under the four-county Appendix B schedule (rev. 1/26/2024); confirm current amounts with the Clerk.
- Fulton quirk: the $30-per-child (ages 5–17) add-on used by the other three counties on the shared schedule does NOT apply to Fulton filings.
- Parents must complete the mandatory parenting program within 75 days of filing (DR Rule 11.01); approved online classes run at assistingourkids.com, and a missed scheduled session incurs a $10.00 rescheduling fee.
- Never-married parents file in the separate Juvenile Division, where a complaint/motion for allocation of parental rights carries a $200.00 deposit (the $50.00 mediation fee is deducted from it).
- Fulton provides no paper forms — download the Ohio Supreme Court standardized domestic-relations and juvenile forms.

Why Fulton County is different
One courthouse, two courts
Married spouses divorce in the General Division before Judge Scott Haselman; never-married parents file paternity, custody, and support in the separate Juvenile Division. Both sit at 210 S. Fulton Street, Wauseon, but the Juvenile Division closes daily from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Filing in the wrong court delays your case. (Fulton County Common Pleas & Juvenile Division)
Finish the parenting class within 75 days
Any party in a case allocating parental rights must complete the court-designated parenting program within 75 days of filing (Rule 11.01). Missing that deadline can make you ineligible to receive an allocation of parental rights, and if no one completes it the case can be dismissed. Online attendance (assistingourkids.com) is allowed by request to the Assignment Commissioner for cause. (Fulton County DR Local Rules (Chapter 11))
Bring the child's birth certificate to Juvenile filings
The Juvenile Division requires a birth certificate at filing for Grandparent Power of Attorney, Caretaker Affidavit, and Application for Custodian cases. Have it ready so your filing isn't held up. (Fulton County Juvenile Division)

Frequently asked questions
Does Gavvl Law serve Fulton County, Ohio?
Yes. Gavvl Law represents families across all 88 Ohio counties, including Fulton County and Wauseon. We handle divorce, dissolution, custody, child support, paternity, and other family law matters for Fulton County residents.
Which Fulton County court handles my family law case?
Fulton County uses different courts for different family matters. Married spouses file for divorce, dissolution, or legal separation at Fulton County Court of Common Pleas (General Division). Unmarried parents handle custody, parenting time, and child support at Fulton County Juvenile Division. Filing in the wrong court can delay your case, so confirm where your matter belongs with the Fulton County Clerk of Courts before you start.
How much does it cost to file a family law case in Fulton County?
Court filing fees in Fulton County are deposits that vary by case type. These deposits can change and do not include attorney fees. Confirm the current schedule with the Fulton County Clerk of Courts, and ask Gavvl Law about flat fees and payment plans for representation.
Do I have to take a parenting class in Fulton County?
Most Ohio courts require divorcing or separating parents to complete a short parenting or co-parenting class before a judge will finalize the case. Confirm Fulton County's current requirement and approved providers with the Clerk of Courts.
Can I file Fulton County family law forms online?
It depends on the court. Some Ohio courts accept e-filing while others require paper filing in person or by mail. Check the Fulton County Clerk of Courts website for the current options before you prepare your documents.
How long does a divorce or dissolution take in Fulton County?
It depends on the path. An Ohio dissolution — used when both spouses agree on every issue — is generally finalized within about 30 to 90 days of filing, because the law sets the final hearing in that window. A contested divorce takes longer, often several months to more than a year, depending on the issues and the court's schedule. Fulton County's docket affects timing, so ask about current wait times at your consultation.
